last week i dusted off the photoblog & listed several of caroline's items that i'm hoping to resale.
while most of them sold, i still have a few more.

~ all items are in excellent used condition unless otherwise noted. i believe only one or two pieces are faded and i will specify that on those items. i have looked over them thoroughly and see no tears or stains. while we do have a pet in the house, they are all from a smoke free home.

party questions & answers

thank you all for the party love!
you know how to make a girl feel great.

one of my girlfriends was suprised when i told her that we had over 250 guests.
she was suprised i hadn't captured an image of "everyone".
truth be told, i stood there with my camera in my hand and talked the entire time.
the vast majority of the images i posted were prior to the party starting.
sadly, i have no images of my own hubby who was looking very handsome in his blue checked polo & khakis.
for all you moms still planning your own grad party, have a friend photograph for you.
you'll be too busy hugging & chatting.

ok, here are answers & links for all the questions.
i think i got 'em all...

~ the tissue paper poms were a martha stewart kit.

you may find a tutorial here.

~the bottles of efferve were purchased at homegoods.
i've also seen them at tjmaxx and marshalls
& in several flavors.
~be filled with joy print was purchased from the etsy shop,

~ the beverage containers were purchased at walmart and sams.
the yellow ceramic one was also purchased from sams club.
the one on the right is just sitting on top of a cake plate.

~the lilly pulitzer special edition animal crackers were found at publix.
however , click on this link which will direct you to the cracker tracker.
good luck! aren't they the cutest?

~ i ordered notepads from walmart.com to use for guests to write notes for the girls.  while i'd love to have an image fill up the entire pad space vs. the little image only available in the corner,  these are cute and inexpensive.
i've posted an image of a few others i've ordered too.

while i'm on notepads,
these are mighty cute & i have several styles from this shop too!
excellent teacher gifts!

~ i covered a large cork board  ( i think it's about 3 1/2 feet by 4 1/2 feet ) with khaki linen to use for a photoboard for the party.
i was hoping the finished product would look more fun than "crafty".
since the girls have been best friends all throughout highschool, i had many photos from which to choose.

~ & for my friend  who asked "who's Lilly?"
gasp
this is for you.

"What is a 21 year-old girl named Lilly to do after she’s just eloped?
Lilly married Peter Pulitzer and escaped the hustle and bustle of New York City for the sun and sand of Palm Beach? With your husband running the family orange groves, why not start a juice stand?
And that is just what Lilly did back in 1959, but her new business venture soon gave her a closet full of juice-stained clothes. Inspired by the colorful nature of her newly dyed wardrobe, Lilly launched a line of brightly colored shift dresses covered in playful prints. It wasn’t long before her dresses became a hit in all of the country’s most fashionable resort towns, and soon ’60s style icons like Jackie Kennedy were wearing Lilly’s designs.
Fast-forward 50 years, and Lilly Pulitzer prints are still a favorite for all those people that lead colorful lives."

& finally,
~while i had wanted to get these listed back in march,
i finally have some of caroline's lilly items and a few boden available for resale.
i plan to post these on my severely neglected photoblog
starting tomorrow.

just your basic friday night

caroline & i are watching the justin bieber movie, never say never.
i feel better already,
just getting that off my chest & getting right with ya'll from the very beginning.
a little quality time, right?

i think any "other" child feels a little left out when all the fuss is over another sibling.
i feel this entire senior year has been full of so much focus on savannah,
yet none of the girls have complained.
hopefully they will each feel just as loved on & each as blessed when their turn rolls around.

goodness, i keep getting so distracted with the biebster in the back ground.

anyway...
i wanted to have a little treat for savannah & bailey, just to thank them for giving me the opportunity to host their grad party. it has been a joy collaborating with them & planning loads of little details.

all three of us share a love for lilly pulitzer,
so i commissioned a local custom baker, my sweet things, to create some cookies.
i sent her an image of savannah's dress (bailey had yet to purchase hers)
& asked her to make some lilly themed cookies.
she delivered these yesterday & i couldn't have been more excited.

today i set up a little fun after school snack for the girls.
a little reminder of how much i love them & a little toast to a super fun event.

who says you can't mix waterford with plastic lilly?

love you girls!
here's to a great grad party weekend!

ok, back to bieber fever
thank goodness caroline & i are each "one less lonely girl"
...sorry,
i couldn't resist ;)

kindles, camera lenses, poufs & jeanne oliver

good morning everybody!
can you tell i have much to talk about today?
here we go~

i finally made time last night to peruse the people magazine feature of the royal wedding. i snatched this up last week as soon as it hit the stores to add to my small collection. the girl at target that rang me up was clearly not team royal wedding. poor child. she asked me why on earth i was so tickled to purchase this magazine.
i'm serious.

speaking of target. i was also looking for the infamous, seemingly sold out everywhere, poufs from the calypso line.
sold out. sadness.
i drove over there thinking i'd grab a couple of gold ones, maybe grab a silver one, just in case.
yeah, well apparantly so did everyone else. the day they came out. thankyouverymuch. rumor has it they're not stellar quality but for the price, who cares. darn it.
if you scored one, lucky girl.

i love this one, but at 400 smackers, i'll pass.

i debated forever between the nook and kindle. i wanted the nook because
a. it's white
and most importantly,
b. there is a fabulous lilly cover for the nooks.

after some research, i ended up going with the kindle. there's a super cute kate spade gatsby cover. but since i haven't read gatsby i felt i wasn't worthy. so red leather cover it is....until lilly whips out a kindle cover, right?

(the inside of the lilly reads, judge my nook by it's cover. how darn cute is that?!)

madison set it up for me the day it arrived while i was at a meeting & promptly downloaded a free copy of Pride & Prejudice ( which i promised her i'd read during her birthday month, which was march. i'm on page 37. oops.). i have samples of On Folly Beach & mary alice monroe's latest, The Butterfly's Daughter. ready to go the next time i sit back down!

speaking of research, i finally made a decision on a couple lenses. i've primarily shot with my canon 50 1.4 prime lens which i love. i wanted something with a little bit more of a wide angle , so i went with the tamron 28-75 2.8. it received great reviews & is a fraction of the  price of comparable other brands. fraction! i used a telephoto lens for years until it basically died. i guess that happens when on vacation alone i took 5,000 images. anyway, i knew i wanted to pay more for the lower aperture option on the wide angle, but just wanted a basic telephoto zoom. this one isn't anything fancy , the ap only goes to 4-5.6 but it will work great for what i need. it's also a tamron, 70-300.

while we sadly missed out on metallic ever so cool poufs at tarjay, we have poufs going on over here.
the girls were a huge help yesterday and made several for the party saturday. sweet bailey, who yes, has returned to life as a brunette ( shade kate middleton) even ran carpool for caroline's tumbling class yesterday. love that girl.

(they're for outside, not the living room btw)

i begged her not to go to ole miss. seriously. i have to make myself NOT think about what the days will be like when she is not dropping in daily with savannah. one of the fallouts of having my first born leave, is that means her friends leave too. honestly, i found myself already fast forwarding to the days when they graduate from college & we can spend days going to lunch and shopping for lilly together.
sigh.

the dads unloaded tables yesterday while dan took a quick break from the tedious job of pressure washing. i'm sure the neighbors will love it when we quit parking in the street.

since i'm obviously not as great a multi-tasker as i'd like to think i am,
no one complained about my burnt spaghetti sauce last night for dinner.
actually, i think the girls were just ready to get back in & watch the prom episode of glee.
did you hear them sing adele?
awesome!
anyway, gotta love teenagers that are easy to please!

since the girls were over me taking random shots of them after a day of running around,
i'll redeem them & share a quick few from prom.
they were all so good looking!

more of those later....

and to wrap it up, i'd love to share my friend jeanne's lookbook from her new FABULOUS spring summer line, Town & Country.
goodness gracious, i love it all!!!
