ranunculus & a favorite painting or two

it is a rare treat to find ranunculus for sale here in Georgia.
or at least, i think it is.
but of course, trader joe's never fails.

these little lovelies didn't last super long
but were glorious while they were here.

i have shared before about my sweet friend melanie.
her paintings are some of my favorite treasures.

oh how i wish i were a talented painter.
i love the smells of oil paints & the turpentine.
i love the feel of the brush against the canvas.
i love the feeling of calm
& of accomplishment
finishing a piece provides.

it's been a few years since i took painting lessons.
my art teacher is no longer teaching adults.
if anyone local knows of a great teacher, especially for beginners
please let me know.

as for now,
i'll enjoy melanie's along with my ranunculus.

beautiful...

Love the pink flowers against the beautiful blues of the paintings. I sure do miss Melanie's blog as well as her paintings of the water!

The painting and the shells and the peonies would be perfect for our nursery!
We are doing a beachy theme and just found out we are having a girl!
Any advice on raising girls?
You seem to be an expert ;)
