frustration & some family photo shoots

yesterday i had a breakdown.
after showing up 6 hours later than we thought,
the septic tank couldn't be located.
i won't go into details now,
i'll save that for another riveting post.
but the bottom line is we are no closer to closure on this issue
than we were 5 days ago when it began.
it's overwhelming, frustrating, scarey and probably going to be quite expensive.
if i start rambling i'll probably resume crying
so
i'm switching gears today~

i wanted to share some images
i took back in the fall.
the two moms are best of friends
as are the youngest boys.
caroline goes to school with them & they are two of her favorite
'boy' friends :)

the day we shot we super chilly & quite blustery.
but they were quite the troopers.

cathy & kathy
i want to thank you two.
ya'll are two of the most encouraging friends i know
whether i'm running or taking photos
you always have an encouraging word for me.
i hope to be that kind of friend right back to you!

your friendship is a blessing~

i had just pressed the publish button
when dan emailed me the following verse~
figured i'd come back & share it with you too

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass
through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the
fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am
the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:2-3

You know, sweet Paige, that is the same verse shared with Edie when she lost her home. God is with you. I know you know that because you have felt and feel His hand in your life and you are a faithful servant. But as you feel the frustration of this come over you, know that God is carrying you. He will see you and your family through this trial. I am praying for you, dear Paige. Peace be with you friend.

Hi, I haven't a clue how I found your blog :), but I just thought I'd offer this...do you happen to have a plat plan from when your house was built, or some sort of survey map; perhaps this would show where the septic tank was to be located, or where the soil perced when the land was being developed, this may give a clue as to where your tank is. Also, maybe you could check wit the builder/developer.

Hope this helps.

Great photos! My faves are the ones on the rock by the river.

And I hope that your septic issue clears up soon. We have a septic tank so I'm not sure I want to know the scary details of your situation...

Blessings,

Alison

Oh Paige, I hope today is a better day for you and that you get some answers on how they are going to fix the problem. In the meantime, go give that "big furball of love" a hug and it will make you feel better. ;P

Judging by your title, I was trying to figure out how you squeezed a photo shoot in during this septic drama. :)

Picking up my camera and using it to see God's goodness around me always cheers my soul during tough times (that and God's word, which you have). Maybe you need to grab your camera and go pay a visit to those horses today. ;)

Praying for you....

Isaiah is going around! I'm reading this section right now and it is so encouraging. I've seen verses from this section on other blogs too. Something so great to meditate on, especially for you now. Big hugs! Those pictures are beautiful as always. There's nothing like good friendship.

The septic tank has to be filed with the county your house is built in...we went to the county DHEC department to pull ours prior to drawing up plans to add onto our house. We live in SC surely all states require it. =) Love your blog.

What a bit of chaos. I keep thinking of that line from Steel Magnolias, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger". I say that to myself frequently.
Who would have thought it would be so hard to find a septic tank? One would think it would be a fairly easy thing to do, but I guess not. What makes them so sure you are on a septic system?
Wish I could be there to help you and your family right now.
The photos are amazing as always. What beautiful families.
Buck up sister, you are a strong, Southern woman, this will not get the better of you.
God, please bless my friend Paige and her family. Please help them through this and walk by their side. Please help keep their faith and spirit strong.

i am so hoping and praying that God makes all the details of your plumbing situation smooth....

BUT, regardless of whether it goes smooth or not, HE IS WITH YOU...

Oh Paige - Sweetie I FEEL for you! Here in the great white north of IL we've got somewhere between 3 and 4 feet of snow on the ground and the drifts are covering the air intake for people's furnace's -try finding a WHITE pipe buried somewhere around your house about 12-18" off the ground in a drift in below zero temps. Current wind chill is -15.

I do have one thought - when we built our house 7 years ago the COUNTY HEALTH DEPT. had to come out and inspect the septic system and they had a schematic drawing of our lot including the location of the tank, drain fields, etc. to make sure our septic wasn't too close to any wells, other homes, etc. Maybe, hopefully, yours was also inspected? Will keep you in my prayers.

Really sorry for this craziness.

Must say that I love the photos.
The family shot in black and white is one of my faves.
Autumn is such a wonderful time to take family photos.
My red haired daughter does her family every year with the beautiful leaves in the background.

anything unexpected, is really tough alltogether. especially wrapped around mula. we just got back from hotel nite with kids, and our car broke down on the way home. wammo. emergency car repair-750 later. i know your situation is warranting so much more involved. not comparing. listen to this wonderful verse your hubby sent. and look for how God will see this through perhaps in a way you might be surprised. he will provide a way.

Paige, first off, I just adore your blog, and as a mom to three little girls, I can only imagine...Secondly about two years ago we encountered the same problem (except we knew we had septic) and had to come up the money (cash) the next day. I get so upset still, just thinking about it, so I promise to say an extra prayer for you all!
In the meantime as far as locating the tank, here's what oddly enough MIGHT help..With all the snow you've had think back to a place where the snow never quite stuck? It's always melted in that particular one area. Ours is right off our patio, the snow always melts in a patch over the tank. Check back in all those photos you take, maybe you'll notice something different. I can send you a photo of ours (it's noticeable). We live up north and for some reason the snow doesn't stick so much over the tank? Best of luck!!! xoxoxo Kate
