i have to tell you,
there appears to be a small percentage of inhabitants in my home
who believe i haven't decorated 'enough' for Christmas.
it's ok
i'm trying to not go the passive aggressive
emotional manipulation route
however, as i upload a couple dozen images from around our home
part one, nonetheless
it's hard for me to side with them.
i think they enjoy seeing me get my feathers ruffled a bit
& try to defend myself
with sayings such as
"what's the gigantic twinkling tree then?"
"& the mantel is overflowing with greenery and poinsettias"
& "who has vintage ornaments outside, that must be brought in daily so they won't freeze & shatter"
"where's the little elf on the shelf this morning"
"excuse me while i walk by the nativity scene"
"would one of you please move the ginormous bowl of ornaments so i can serve you the holiday meal i've created"
& the most famous
"i'm not the only one who puts a Christmas tree in a galvanized bucket....
for crying out loud"
seriously...it's all good.
the more they enjoy their comments
the more laughter there is in our home
which
let me tell ya
i'll take some jokes on my behalf
if it means our home echos with belly laughs & giggles
so
i present you
in my defense
part one
of Christmas in our home
Isaiah 9.6
For unto us a child is born,
unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace

Lovin' that chalkboard!
Your home is beautiful!
And I think you have plenty of Christmas decor to go around!
Holy cow! Are you kidding me?! Your house looks fabulous! Your girls would really get a good laugh at my house!
Beautiful photos - gorgeous home! Love it all! Especially the vintage ornaments.

It is the kind of home Paige, that I would love to visit with you in... Maybe one day :) I love the white church, the twiggy reindeer and, for me, most poignant, the African nativity scene, as it reminds me of home. Loving you xx
I love those vintage ornaments and especially that white church!
I love this!!! How did you get your tree stand to sit inside your galvanized bucket?!
elegant and peaceful! Just perfect for the celebration of the "prince of peace".... I am trying so hard this year to NOT have it look as if we are celebrating Chaos!
Oh my, it is just perfect. My favorite was the sweet centerpiece with the ball ornaments. Then I saw the porch tool box {love}. But the chalkboard, well that is the reason for the season!
Merry Christmas!
Stacey
Paige -- it is picture perfect. I love every bit of it. Especially loved your sweet girl's pic in the glass ornament. :) And, the last shot of the big chalk board with the scripture on it. If that had been the one and only thing you decorated with, with a sprig of greenery on it, it would have been "just enough". :)
Your home is lovely -- a beautiful mix of old and new.
Merry Christmas!!
Ruth
So Pretty.
Truly beautiful. I love it all.
Dear Paige and darling daughters,
Please come to Rhode Island and spread some of your Christmas Magic. I need you all here for a day or two. I promise you will love it.
PS I have some serious "tool box" envy
~Cheryl
oh my gosh paige. your home looks so lovely. i love, love, love the big bowl of vintage ornaments. and the tool box on the porch and.....
i could go on and on. you're right, i think they just like to ruffle your feathers.
I'd have to
say that you
have hit just
the right note
in my book, Paige!
But with the
kids it's always
more is MORE : )
And laughter IS
the best decor;
your strategy
is working, friend!!
Merry Monday,
xx Suzanne

I totally have bottle brush tree envy! The assortment of colors are so beautiful! Love the church in the jar and I have a special affection for old tool boxes. With all of the decorating I have done, I realize I didn't decorate any of them, yours is lovely! Thanks for sharing, Laura
It's all gorgeous. I just bought some vintage ornaments that look exactly like the ones in your bowl! And I love the tree in a galvanized bucket.

Beautiful Paige! I love that big bowl with all the vintage ornaments the colors are amazing.
It's like a magical wonderland in there!! And I recognize the galvanized bucket.... I think we scored the same one! You decorated beautifully, and I love it! If you want to show your girls some homes lacking in Christmas spirit/cheer/decorations, look no further than my home this season. For some reason, it's just basic around here. (Not that basic is bad, just very unlike me normally!) Love your huge bowl of ornaments.
Looks BEAUTIFULLY CHRISTMASY to me. I love it:)
I love everything Paige!!! So pretty!!!! I am loving the barky looking trees, I have been looking for something like that forever! And who doesn't love the huge bowl of vintage ornaments, I have a weakness for them!
Simply beautiful Paige. I never tire of looking at photos of your home. You have such impeccable taste. I love everything (especially your pretty bling-y lamps. I know they're not Christmas decor, but I've been wanting some.)

Whhaaaaat? That Christmas tree looks soo elegant in it's galvanised tin! WOW. I love the shots of your house - so tranquil. I find myself wondering - where is all the 'stuff'? My house seems full of it no matter how hard I try to emulate your wonderful whiteness. I love your images Paige - they stay with me after I close the blog post. Like I was choosing photo frames and found myself thinking of your dramatic black-framed detailing in your hall! Freaky! But true. Lou xx
l.o.v.e. each detail, Paige - can't wait to see your tree on the hardwood! xoxoxo
You aren't the only one!! Our tree is happily residing in a galvanized tub too!
Simply beautiful! I can't wait til I can put my glass ornaments back on my tree...1 1/2 containers full in storage b/c of a rambunctious 5-yo boy!
