pink lemonade cupcakes & a nora fleming freebie

madison's love language is baking.
 cupcakes are her specialty.
often times at night before she turns in,
she'll be downstairs whipping up a couple dozen to celebrate a friend's
birthday at school the next day.

on this particular day
one of her girlfriends was celebrating with a pool party.
madi added a packet of kool aid pink lemonade
to a regular yellow cake mix for the cupcake batter.
she then made a homemade buttercream frosting
& added 2tsp from a second packet of koolaid so the frosting would also have a
light lemonade taste.

she then cut little straws & added umbrellas to create little
poolside treats!
they were delicious!

the platter & little blue crab mini pictured above
are from the Nora Fleming line.
we have loved our serving pieces
& the little mini's are a great, inexpensive way to add a little fun to your table
or bunco munchies, or after tennis match spread, or just to sit poolside.

our friends at Carol & Company.
have a special offer for you.
if you purchase the keepsake box
(which will keep 9 mini's all safe and sound)
you will receive the blue crab mini for FREE.

special will run until midnight sunday, june 17.
no code necessary
:)

Madison has to check out the Cake Doctor books. The original one has the best recipe for Snickerdoodle Cake-it makes great cupcakes too.

Love your pics of the NF items too! The blue crab is perfect for the summer.

I need one of those cupcakes..I'm two days in to no sweet tea, and I'm as ill as a pill. for real. My family just left to go swimming and I wasn't invited. :)

Is that a Red Bar shirt she's wearing? LOVE that place. :)

I read this post yesterday morning and then went into my class of 6th graders and one student had made the EXACT same cupcakes for the class! I am definitely putting these on the menu for the summer.
I left you a really long post on the makeup post, only to find out it didn't post (it was my computer!) I wanted to tell you you should try Garnier's BB cream which you get at the local drug store. It is a tinted moisturizer and normally I am a foundation girl, but I really like it.
