so i thought we had a deal
i played the old~
i've been trick or treating for 16 years
since 1993 in fact,
whatya say we take a break.
let's pass on buying yet another costume that runs me 40 smackers.
i'll buy you out.
i'll get you your own bag of favorite treats
in fact, i'll even splurge & hit the local bakery for fresh baked goodies
she was aok with this
she really was...
(big sisters all had weekend party plans
speaking of which, didn't it seem like halloween lasted for three days?)
until friday.
she rolls in after school
& being the event planner that she is
had pulled together a loaner costume,
been invited to a halloween party on saturday,
and
had invited friends over to trick or treat on sunday
mmmmkay
don't judge me ok
when the big three were little ones
we went all out
poor youngest of four
mama's tired
but we had a great time at our neighborhood party last night
& the girls had a blast trick or treating
last week i realized
all of a sudden
that october was hitting the road
& november was rolling in
november 1st means only one thing to me
OH MY GOODNESS!!!
christmas is only a few weeks ago
why do i already sorta feel a little anxiety?
i am going to make my own deal with myself .
to NOT be stressed with all the to-do's
and truly enjoy the process
wish me luck
anyway
i jumped in with both feet on this bringing the outdoors in style
i have a few urns full of branches
most of which i sprayed painted just a subtle silvery gold
i love the dimension & texture they add to each space
these are in the kitchen
& yes ma'am
i've packed the pumpkins away.
we're movin' on
well
except for this sweet little guy
that i painted white
branches in the living room
& some branches in our master.
this one is actually quite tall
the Ballard Designs holiday catalog arrived this weekend.
when i saw the suzanne kesler feature
i think i actually made an audible gasp
LOVE it
the suzanne kesler section is fab!!
the picture online is not the full display they feature in the catalog.
(i'll try to scan that & share later)
but apparantly i can incorporate my little branch gig into my holiday decor!
fantastic!

Paige, it sounds like Halloween worked out okay after all. :) Those treats look delish and I would recognize a Blue Rooster Bakery box anywhere! C is one lucky girl. And yes, Halloween seemed to last forever this year. So fun, but glad it's behind us for another year.
i'm sort of ready to put away the pumpkins as well... how does that happen? Love your last pic! very pretty and very you!
wait till you see my branch!
p.s. i thought you might pull through for halloween...
Wow, that sounds like a great deal!!! But she is very cute in her costume as well and looks so happy. I do think Halloween lasted a long time this year, but still lots of fun. Try not to stress over the to do's.
I am ready for the pumpkins to be gone...mine have been out for sooo long! Everything in your home looks just beautiful...
xo,
annie
p.s. i am giving away the new Barefoot Contessa cookbook...i hope you come enter!
Love your decorating... you have actually motivated me to get my behind in gear!! Our house in under construction right now, so it should be interesting!!! Will keep you posted~
Lovely Paige! I can't wait to get that catalog. I hope it comes soon! I always love what you do around your house. So fresh! Love Little Bit's costume. It's brilliant!
I was thinking about you yesterday and hoping that your sweet little one got to go trick or treating! :) Cute costumes and girls -- bet they had a blast!
Love your special touches! I'm nervous about the holidays already too!

I already have my Ballard Catalog marked up with those I want it stickers on that line! I'm loving all the colors for her Christmas decorations.
Your home looks great, I am dreading putting away all the Halloween decor today, guess I should start on that now :)
I love you.... I had a similar reaction to the BD magazine. LOL And I'm seeking the perfect tiny branch for a display of my own for the Holidays too. I can't wait for Christmas!
Love the socks ; )
Sheila

I was on the
same page as

was resigned to
staying home with
his own bowl of
goodies and a
screening of
Sleepy Hollow
when a friend called
an hour before lift
off and said YOU
HAVE TO COME and off
went my 5'6" 12 year
old with a big
smile, to trick or
treat one.more.time.
Love looking forward
to the next season
with your pretty and
inspiring decor!!

oh how i totally understand that feeling - and don't have the same age kids as you; 12 and 11 and I was thinking ok guys you are done with this right?? WRONG - but in the end we had fun getting their costumes ready and the evening turned out great!
I have definately thought about the same idea; I will buy you something the the $40 I would spend on a costume and buy them treats - but there is something more fun for them doing it the tradtional way i guess!!
Glad you enjoyed your weekend! Love your house pixs that little lamp shade is ADORABLE!
I gotta get my halloween stuff put away ASAP!!
xoTiffany
I cannot believe it is November....I am not ready. i need a nap;)
Lil' Bit has the best costume ever.
Wait! You can still keep your pumpkins up...what about Thanksgiving? Maybe not Jack-O-Lanterns, but pumpkins yes.
Well, It sounds like it all worked out okay for you. Ugh...I'm tired of costumes too. Bad thing is, my littlest is three, so I don't think I'll be able to make any deals for awhile. I was ready for Halloween to be over before it was even here. I'm ready to get Christmas rollin'.
Wonderful photographs.
I think the "last" child gets other things that are much more special and that gives us some okay room for what we "don't" give them.
I love this post! So happy the littlest got to trick or treat after all!
I am putting away the pumpkins as I type and am bringing out the turkeys tonight! I am Halloween'd out!
I am not quite ready for Christmas yet because I can't ever make a deal with myself! I always make myself crazy!
i saw this in ballard designs and thought of you! i am getting inspired for the holidays:)
Hi Sweet Paige! Lovin' this post....such fun decor to usher in the holiday season! And lovin' Caroline's costume...too cute! (oh yeah, I ADORE that photo of her in your last post! Too darn cute!)
You wouldn't happen to be heading to Blissdom in January are you?
xoxo
Wendy
Hi Paige,
Love this post! I'm ready for some fresh decorating myself...which is why I'm shedding all the emotional junk and gonna ENJOY this Holiday season! Love Ballard Design too...did you see the "blush" fabric Suzanne has? Yum! I'm trying to get a better shot of that one.
And Caroline and her friends look awesome:)
Well , so much for the art of negotiation Paige ! I'm no Jimmy Carter either , my Lulu still hasn't forgiven me for one tired mama halloween , and she's grown !
P.S. I was fortunate to go to a Suzanne Kasler , Southern Accents beach house near Seaside 8 or so years ago , it's still my all time favorite.
My girls are only 7 and 9 and I'm over the whole spend money on costumes thing. Time for them to dig into the dress up box and make up their own costume!
And we can't even eat the candy (my youngest turns into a demon with artificial colors, flavors and preservatives), so I have to say: not my favorite holiday.
Happy November! I'm taking deep breaths right along with you as we enter the Christmas season!
Xo,
Linsey
oh bless her heart, with that sweet costume.
xo
Your vignettes are just gorgeous, Paige!
And that's one super cute little angel/devil you've got there, too. :-)
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Hugs,
Anne
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about in the Ballard Design catalog...soooo cute! Have fun with that! :-)
