pillow infidelity

let me start by sharing with you
the only safe
unmoved or relocated pillow
in my home

i don't know about you
but when i move one thing
replacement of multiple other things
soon follows

such has been the case
around here
the last several weeks

my latest crush is pillows
linen pillows
burlap pillows
vintage french pillows
antique linen pillows
soft scrunchy pillows

which reminds me~~
one of my daughter's friends walked in the other day
& said
"wow, what a white room"
apparantly she repeated that observation multiple times
as she visited our home
& it didn't sound like she was a fan

clearly
the poor child
doesn't appreciate the neutral movement
that , dare i say, is taking over my home decorating
bless her heart

of course my more critical daughter
was mighty quick to point out
" see mom, i told you its too white in here"

but then she fessed up
that her bestie
loved our "wow, what a white home" home

everyone's a critic right?

oh

& by the way , i have a red sofa for crying out loud

its not "all white" 'round here....sheesh

back on track

as you can see
the pillow movement took on a life of its own
sorta like american idol
gotta wait til the 'next week' to find out
who was gonna get moved out
it all started in the bedroom
doesn't it always?
im sorry
that was sorta inappropriate

my bff kristin & her resident marthastewartmom
took two of my mother in law's vintage linen towels
( they can do anything)
& made these precious precious pillows
i love these little pretties
but had to break it to the big guy
they are not for laying on, squisshing, or propping upon
duh

then i tried to decide if a ginormous pillow
appropriate for squishing & laying upon
would be better suited for the bed

or this one?

being the funny guy that he is
he often times sends photo texts to me while i'm at work
to "make sure" he made the bed correctly
& that the pillow placement meets approval

har har

the latest score are these finds from Restoration Hardware

i think i might of grabbed the last few
which only means multiple other Atlanta housewives
are now facing the same potential pillow infidelity i am

& being all about symmetry
the next question was
2 or 3?

the next morning the sun was shining
& the birdies were chirping
so i took that as affirmation that all 3 would remain

closure
i love that

well
i think today
every pillow has its place

& now i can get on to other
major decisions
such as
what stays on the kitchen counter
& what's gonna go

clearly i need to get a life

{{ps~ just in case you're curious~~

the pillows are from petit coterie,

mimi charmante, lola b's boutique,

lettered threads

restoration hardware, jeanne d'arc living,

the beautiful life, & dreams of france}}

So,I just started reading your blog the other day. I was home sick and worked my way thru it while on the sofa.

I don't normally gush at perfect strangers, I promise, but your posts have really touched me in such a way...I think God led me to you (& the Pearls & Grace blog)during a really hard time in my life, when I needed more than anything to hear that God is still with me and prayer changes things. It's been hard to keep Faith, but seeing other people's tests and how they've been able to do it, has strengthened me. Thank you for sharing so much of your life.

And, by the way, can you come decorate my house?? :-)

Love when you show your home. It's so pretty. You know I'm a pillow fan. Those french pillows are just the thing right now. They look so good with everything you have. I got a pillow from Melanie too. I just love my lucky number 7:)

Ok, so I have to admit that I haven't been on board with the whole white everything trend BUT from the pics I've seen of your house, I would love to just curl up on one of those sofas (careful not to crush your delicate pillows of course) and read for hours!

I love all the new pillows too! So pretty!

I so love the neutral movement even though I have two red chairs and a pretty strong feeling I couldn't pull off a colorless-ish house. Not with these messy kids!

I am working on simplifying today. Mostly getting rid of stuff. I love a good purge! :)

PS. I love your pillows! All of them!

And your counters -- so lovely too! I really need to declutter and establish some rules around my house!

Have a great day!

You are the Pillow Queen! I love them. I think the one with the little, horizontal ruffle is my fave. Your home is so beautiful and serene! Just scoff at those "critics". ;)

Oh heck! I'm sooooo not a decorator. My house either looks like we are just moving in or out. I wish I had a keen eye for decorating, but alas, it is just not my lot in life. Yours my dear is a work of art. Your girls must be neat and tidy though because I could never even imagine having something that light in color near the FGK.
Beautiful!

I always love seeing pictures of your home Paige! I love the pillows. I think the linen monogrammed one is my fave. Also, boys don't understand pillows. It's not their fault, bless their hearts. It's something about the testosterone that blocks their ability to appreciate them.

So funny about naming the laptop. I had already decided to do that. We share a brain. Also, I'm playing on it right now at 11:15 at night while the sweet guy snores not so gently beside me and when I pushed the button to leave a comment your music started up and scared me to death. Luckily nothing wakes up my sleeping beast! I'll be more careful in the future though.

I love pillows too Paige! I am so happy to see my sister Melanie's pillow on your couch! She told me that you had ordered one. I have one too and want more! (Ok, I have 2 from her, I had posted those on my feathers in my nest blog a while ago)
We are just back from our vacation and I have to say I thought of you constantly! What a gorgeous area, my favorite vacation by far! Thanks for all the great tips, and for turning us on to Frost Bites, oh my, the rootbeer float flavor, I went back twice for more, and I am craving it! Also had a great Easter brunch at Red Bar, what a cool place. We will definately be going back!

Paige, you don't need to GET a life, you surely HAVE a very brilliant one here. Love your writing and your pillows! The only place I have whites and neutrals now is in the bedroom....a baby step towards more...gotta ease the king of the castle in this direction, first! Funny how pillows can be a bone of contention with {some} men. They just don't get it : ) Lovely post and food for {MORE} pillow thoughts! xx P&H

Cute post! Loved seeing all your beautiful pillows. It took me years to have my husband understand which pillows were decorative and which were for placing his head on. He still doesn't make the bed though. :)
