some things that are making me happy today

1. knowing that my baby girl is exactly where the Lord placed her
& with the group of people He wanted her to be with.
this truly is an answer to prayer.
(on that note, thank you to all of the sorority sisters that came out of hiding & said hello yesterday. she's going to love reading those comments!)

2. that she is soon to also be in Athens!!
we will practically be neighbors!!
her hubby has a new position at a phenomenal church....
Athens Church is part of the North Point Ministries
and part of the community of churches
where Gregg and i went to church
years ago
& dan and i also were a part of for quite sometime too....
so....
maybe smk will meet her very very soon at Athens Church!
oh yay!!
&
she can teach me how to get that fantastic bump in my daily ponytail :)

welcome back to GA tara!!

3. that i am blessed to have such  thoughtful friends.
Jill, thank you for all the encouragement and funny stories
the last several days both prior to and after moving SMK to school.

we had just driven away from the dorm
& had only been on the road for a few minutes
when the girls texted me
and told me you had sent these gorgeous flowers
& they would waiting on me at home.
love you friend....you knew i'd need a happy that night.

4. that emi & madi will be cheering on the same squad this year!
not only will this be good for their relationship,
having one cheer schedule this fall sure beats
the THREE we kept up with last year!

5. that i grew a blueberry, or 4

6. and finally,   this most fabulous commentary on the book and the movie
The Help
by my kindred spirit, Sibi....
here's a portion of her entry, in her words

"One of my favorite parts of the movie (there are SO many) is the first time Aibileen says to Mae Mobley...
"You is kind. You is smart. You is important. "

Our children have deep wells within that hold and remember the words we speak over them.

I have to speak more life. I have to take motherhood up a few more notches.

More goodness. More love. More wisdom. More encouragement.

Because the world is sitting on ready to tell them otherwise.

Maybe Skeeter had the courage to write and fulfill her calling because of the years of life Constantine had spoken over her as a child."

 amen sister, amen!

So happy for Savannah!!! I am totally giggling over the blueberries. Embarrassingly, I still haven't read The Help, I would love to read it this week so I can go and see the movie. I refuse to see the movie before I read the book. So glad the middle two are on the same squad, what a fun year for them!

As I dropped my daughter off in her new "big 2 year class today" and I felt the tears - I thought about you and just tried to get out the door and cry in the car! :) And I LOVE LOVE the insert from the help! I may have to use that...

hi Paige!

I've read and loved your blog for a while now, and after seeing your post yesterday about bid day I just had to leave a comment congratulating Savannah. My sister, Sarah, was a member of AXO at UGA (she just graduated last year!) and those girls are so fabulous and genuine. I just know she will love it!

I'm also an Alpha Chi but at Georgia Tech, so I'm excited that Savannah gets to experience sorority life as an Alpha Chi! Welcome to the sisterhood, Savannah!
