back in the day bakery

we usually stay local for spring break,
but this year i asked dan if we could head over & do a quickie visit to Savannah.

Savannah Georgia
the gorgeous coastal town
filled with history and charm,
& the inspiration for me to name my first born.

my sweet friend melanie had warned me,
a visit to the paris market
& back in the day bakery
were must see destinations.

well, she knows me.
i could have spent hours in both
maybe i did!
while the feature itself is wonderful
actually walking into this bakery is truly a treat for the senses!

for this former owner of a pink pastel kitchen,
it was love at first site!

the girls working the bakery that day were so adorable.
& were very accommodating while i photographed until my heart was content.
i think my family was worried we were only there for the ambiance!

we tried their cupcakes, lemon bars and italian sodas.

i don't have a huge sweet tooth,
but my number one weakness is a fresh sugar cookie with homemade frosting.
this is a miss hanna~ a delicious lavender shortbread cookie.....
bliss!

caroline sampled the pesto fontina
& then followed up with a resounding "delish"!

they offered new born cupcakes to a tour that was coming through.
did she say new born cupcakes?
oh yes she did! how cute is that?

cheryl was in the back baking, duh, while were visiting.
it was all i could to hold myself back from doing the weirdo fan thing &
saying hello and mumbling things such as
wow
precious
this is the cutest place on earth
can i have another lavender shortbread piece of heaven
i loved your article
or simply
i'll be back!!

How adorable! I'm also tempted to believed that you own this cute little shop. It looks like everything you love all in one little store. I want to visit :)

Oh My goodness! There is so much to love about this post! Back in the Day Bakery does sound dreamy! I will put it on my must see places on a trip to Savannah. OK so you said you had a former pastel pink kitchen. This is a must-share-pics, pretty please, in some future post. I bet it was just as dreamy as this little Savannah treasure. You have a sweet cupcake kind of day! SO glad your weekend was filled with pure bliss!

Dear Paige, The picture that I Love the Best is of the three girls. Just to see the smile on Caroline's face while holding Madison's hands (Priceless-I wish that for my baby girl!) and then glancing over to Emily (you can just see the anticipation)! I also noticed that Savannah is missing(or on her Senior Trip) and in honor of her...I would like to list my remaining Top Seven: 2. The blue shelf with the retro decor 3. The picture of Madison (with the pop of color from her Tiffany blue headband-she looks like she's presenting a crown jewel). 4. The photo of Caroline holding the Pesto Fontina (I'll have what she's having). 5. Caroline's expression after having a bite of the PF (her expression says OM Goodness!). 6. The picture of the party streamers, white brick wall and antique frame (reminds me of something we might see at your house) along with the chandelier (the bulbs remind me of bubbles). & #7. The pink star next to the antique tray(it looks so crisp and the pink just pops!). Thank you for sharing. It just makes me want to run right down there for a visit! I hope you enjoyed living in the moment with most of your favorite peeps & in one of your favorite places(just from reading we know you can't have just One)!

I LOVE Savannah
and had such a
great visit there
last year when my
girl was at SCAD.
I wish she were
going back this summer,
but the West is calling
her name, instead : )
Fun to see your little
'un in her namesake city!!
