the new fall line & life lately

our new fall line launches today

you need to swing on by & check out our beautiful new peices.
join us on journey to create a pathway out of poverty for artisans from all over the world.

i hope everyone had a wonderful labor day weekend.
for the vast majority of my adult life i've worked jobs that required i work weekends.
now i eagerly look forward to fridays and spending time with my favorite people.

in the last week i've had the honor of photographing a variety of sessions

a precious newborn

a spunky adorable middle schooler

a wonderful young man, days before he leaves for basic training

& a couple renewing their vows on their 40th anniversary

i was able to enter in these powerful moments
with each family & capture what i hope is priceless images for them.
i consider that both an honor and a privilege.

we're still rolling along on my wordpress page.
as soon as it's ready i'll let you know!

have a great week!

1 corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Charming. Unique. Versatile. This necklace hangs 16'' low and adds that extra drama to an otherwise basic outfit. Handmade by artisans in Ethiopia using recycled metal beads and melted-down war weapons. This necklace is truly a statement piece. Genuine silver embellishments are made by a local silversmith. Each of these spectacular beads is a unique piece of artwork. Loop-tie closure. This piece is handmade in Ethiopia using recycled nickel, copper, and bronze melted down from previous war weapons. Most of the artisans who created the pieces are HIV positive and receive healthcare and literacy training in addition to job training. Not only are they are learning a skill, but they are learning that their life matters.

wordpress, logos & a noonday sale

morning friends!
i wanted to give ya'll a heads up~

i'm making the move
& switching to wordpress!!
i'm currently in the throws of registering a domain
choosing a template
& also creating branding and a logo for my photography.
i feel like i'm building a house.
well that may be a bit of an exageration
but doing everything at once with terminology
i don't use in my daily life is craziness i tell you. craziness!

it's sorta always been a bit of a pet peeve of mine
when someone says, ohmygosh, i'm just so busy.
because we're all busy. really.
but
having said that,
ohmygosh, i'm so busy.

i'm hoping it will all be a smooth transition when it's all complete
& ya'll will come along and follow me there.

i wanted to let you know that we're having a sale over at noonday
& making room for our fall release
set for the first week in september.
some of the items are phasing out & once they're gone, they're gone.
others like the dulce necklace are just marked down because they've been
great sellers & we're trying to offer a temporary special.

i'll also offer a couple of my sample pieces at a  40% off, discount
 including the precious tetris necklace.
handmade from the gemstone chrysoprase
(regular retail $220, my sale price $135 plus $6 ship-inbox me if intersted)

savannah's gorgeous AXO sister!

alrighty,
ya'll have a great day!

love from lisa leonard & new home products

so tickled to have a shout out from one of my most favorite bloggers this morning.
thank you lisa leonard!!

lisa is wearing one of our most popular pieces,

 come take a peek today
as we release some pieces from our ever growing home line.
kitchen towels, journals, stationary,
plush childrens toys
and my favorite,
the wola noni bowls.
These bowls come in a set of three and are perfect for your desk, window sill, side table, and more.
Each bowl takes up to 4 hours to make by hand.
They are created out of recycled magazines by a craft project in South Africa that focuses on the needs of HIV+ women and their children.
Their services aim to ease the burden of HIV by enabling people living with the virus to respond positively and attain the skills to develop their own coping strategies

we had an extra special couple of visitors last night
as we celebrated Hutton's one year since her heart transplant.
i'll share more photos of this precious child
& our fun time together soon!

the artist & his creation

i love the stories & the artisans behind
our Noonday Collection pieces.
my goal was to share them more frequently,
so hopefully you'll see posts like this much more often.

the azteca earrings are big favorites in our home
( very reasonably priced at $24)

They are composed of tiny ceramic beads
created by Jaime in his workshop in Antigua, Guatemala.
They are then beaded by a group of women he has worked with for several years.
each of them all receive a fair wage for their work.

 also shown
~
madison is wearing the
& the acai beads in grey,
now available in turquoise and hot pink.
all very fun pieces which have sold well this summer.

savannah is wearing the
and one of our favorites,
(also available in ivory).
she is also wearing the tagua seed in inca
& riverbed bracelet in turquoise.

i joke about us not being a less is more family with our jewelry
but as you can see, these pieces all layer well together.
the minted necklace can be doubled and worn as a shorter necklace
as can the embira necklace.

we're releasing several wonderful new pieces
to our home line tomorrow
so come check it out!

minted crush growing ever stronger

several months ago i shared my love for minted journals that i gifted the girls at christmas time.
i recently placed an order for new business cards,
stationary & some graduation gifts from minted
that i am so pleased with & wanted to share with you

i have used these for my photography business for a few months
& love their clean crisp look.

i could spend hours, & usually do, creating personalized stationary
especially when an image can be added.
i think their boxed notes are packaged so cute!

bought several of the journals again for grad gifts.
i uploaded the girl's images on the inside but didn't want to open & risk bending them before they're gifted...but they are super cute & very well made!

i also wanted to create some cards to easily carry in my wallet
this little style is fun measuring a 2" square.

minted continues to have a great referral plan
go check it out
you get $25 & your friend gets $25 ( with details explained on site)

have a great day & go forth
and create great gifts!
