this is the first thing my family will see as they arrive home today from school
i'm bettin' you just might hear the collective groans ringing through blogland
honestly
i just pulled out a few boxes
i'm using very little this year
i use less & less each year
this year is no exception
i'm keeping it clutterfree
yet festive
mostly white
{shocking}
with some silver , gold & burlap of course
but i love my colorful vintage ornaments
lovelovelove
& i just placed a bunch in this funky bowl thingie picked up in Seaside this summer
placed it on the table
just to get an idea of how it would look
because
its huge
H.U.G.E.
really huge
& by golly
i thought it looked so fun
that i'm leaving it there
was planning on waiting until thanksgiving evening
but i'm living on the wild side
the first should arrive home within the hour
wish me luck
I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe are downsizing too - just to much "stuff".
Gorgeous! Great idea! And I totally agree with clutter-free.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!! :):):) I love your bowl of vintage Christmas balls! Hope you survive the groans! :):)
ReplyDeletebeautiful, I love all your white with that punch of color! The bowl is so cool too :) My children would be just thrilled to see that we are getting ready - I hope yours feel the same!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Love all the vintage ornaments.
ReplyDeleteI too am going simpler this year with Christmas decor. Last year I started weeding through the decorations and donated a lot to the Vets. This year I'm doing the same.
Happy Holidays!!!
That is the best idea I've seen in a long long time. I LOVE IT! So copying you...yes I AM:) Thanks for sharing Paige!!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby would groan the loudest of all. The only reason I'm getting a tree the weekend after Thanksgiving is because he will be out of town the following weekend. I think your ornaments look gorgeous in that container. But I'm terrified that they'll get broken! I'm putting out less this year too. It makes me feel happy to put out less.
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous!! You have to start decorating early this year because Thanksgiving is kind of late, right! Ok, if I copy you too?
ReplyDeleteJanet
Beautiful! I love those oranaments.
ReplyDeletePaige...that is really just gorgeous! I LOVE it so much...just a pop of color with your beautiful white decor....how FUN! I love it and really stands out...I just always seem to smile when I visit your blog...and that picture did just the trick...just makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteHow could they not love it! It's so perfect! Oh, and I love Seaside...it is our favorite place to vacation!
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am starting to pull stuff out too. I have a Christmas dinner on 12/2 here so I need to get it decorated.
this display is SO happy - I'm so excited for Christmas decor!!
ReplyDelete{{Happy Thanksgiving first, of course!}}
xoxoxo
You're so crazy :-) I love, love the look of this!!
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to wait another year before doing anything too vintage/fragile/pretty below eye level, as these "balls" would surely be chunked across the room by a certain 2 year old.
that is so cute! I bet you're really enjoying it!
ReplyDeletewhat's funny is I bought the same basket yesterday at the thrift and I'm putting my vintage ornaments in it. I knew it would be beautiful. And I have the same kitchen table. You sure have great taste!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteDon't tell my family but I'm pulling out a few small items tomorrow. : )I spent this morning putting away fall decor.
Jo

We will start putting a few things out next weekend!

ReplyDeleteholy quac girlfriend..it's gorgeous.
I will have to call you tomorrow to catch up...
Fabulous idea - they look sensational.
ReplyDeleteFunny how so many of us are having 'less' this year
Alison
Oh honey I think this looks absolutely gorgeous!!! It is like 104 degrees here at the moment and our air-conditioner decided it didn't want to work any more on Saturday.....So Christmas decorating seems so far from my thoughts at the moment lol....We usually decorate on the 1st of December but Kirstie is away on camp so will do it when she returns....Missing you heaps and heaps luv c xxxx
ReplyDeletePS move into shop this Thursday....:)
Those ornaments make me HAPPY!
ReplyDeleteI love it! The colors are great - especially against all your white, which I also love. :)
ReplyDeleteI am putting out less and less each year, too. I don't buy much anymore as we already have so much but I can't say I'm not tempted...
love it! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteLove what your doing. Especially the bowl with all the balls.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to visit and wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving
Maggie

ReplyDeletei would scream too if that was on my table - SCREAM WITH DELIGHT that is. i love it!!! vintage ornaments are my favorite. i don't have that many though - yet. every year i hunt for more.
