This is Madison's favorite time of the year.
She dances 6 days a week , year round.
But once September rolls around, all thoughts are on the Nutcracker performances.
I remember taking her to see the Atlanta Ballet perform one December~ she was only 3. She was mesmerized!
Ever since that day, she has truly loved performances...everything about that crazy time of year.
This weekend she performed in 6 of the 16 total .
Her schedule has been absolutely crazy.
I'm so proud of her though. She currently has
straight A's & last week was tested for the advanced gifted program.
But sadly, the eve before Thanksgiving, she got a call from one of her very
best friends. She was at the hospital, on the very floor I worked for many years. She had just been told she had an inoperable brain tumor....
I didn't even know what to say to Madison. We just stood in the kitchen and embraced. Her tender heart was just broken for her friend.
This sweet girl, a state & nationally ranked tennis player is being raised by a single mom. Her daddy died of a heart attack, while playing tennis 3 years ago. Daniella saw him pass away.
How much can a 13 year old heart bear?
If you have a moment during this busy time, would you please pray for Daniella and her family.
Blessings to you my dear friends & thank you~~
Oh goodness, Paige....will definitely pray for Daniella-
ReplyDeleteOh Paige, reading this gave me chills. Such an awful thing for Madison's friend to endure and for Madison to have to deal with also. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and the friend's family.

ReplyDeleteMadison looks gorgeous...the prettiest flower in the bunch!! That was the "waltz of the flowers"...right??? You must be so proud of your sweet girl!!
Tell her "Break a Leg" or "Merde"...that is what we used to say...the French translation is not pretty, but it was supposed to bring good luck when you were about to step onstage!!
I hope to see more pics of your ballerina!!
Have a great week:)
Lisa

ReplyDeleteI started reading your blog which I found through the Nie blog. I have both cried and laughed while reading it and always look forward to your new entries. Your daughter looked beautiful in her flower costume. I have an almost 13 and 10 year old. They both dance and will be starring as Clara and a Chinese Doll this coming Sunday. I loved your comments about dance and all of the time and money that it takes but how your daughter absolutely loves every minute. My girls are the same way and it was so reassuring to know that we're doing the right thing for them. My dance mom friends all talk about this and it was neat to hear that another mom clear across the country had the same feelings, we live in Oregon. My heart goes out to Daniella and her mom, I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh gracious. My heart breaks for the girls and for her friend's mother.Words can't prepare for what's ahead. Sending prayers of peace and comfort.
ReplyDeleteShe does look like the perfect little performer. I love ballet and hope one of my 4 love it,too!
Prayer is done! My thoughts will be with you, your daughter, her friend and family during these holiday seasons! Please let me know if there is anything I can do!
ReplyDeleteMalisa
Wow, talk about putting things into perspective. May the Lord's hand reach down and touch that child. AMEN!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
LeAnn:)
As I knelt down to say prayers with my little girl tonight, she snuggled close and said "mom, I don't want to die." A huge lump caught in my throat... but I thought for a moment and told her our bodies aren't meant to live forever... But our spirits will remain FOREVER in Heaven and that's where we want to be SOMEDAY. I told her I've lived 33 years and that's so old so she need not worry because she's only 4
ReplyDeleteI pray and hope that will always be true.
And I will pray for you, your daughter, Daniella and her family.
I am so sorry.
oh my sweet friend, bittersweet is right. I will pray...
