gained 38 pounds
mostly from eating cheese grits Pioneer Woman Style
because who knew
that the recipe makes enough to feed an entire ranch full of cowboys.
twice.
painted my nails opi's suzi skis in the pyrenees
debated whether to keep the second pair of cowboy boots santa brought.
santa rocked by the way
but brown or black?
conflicted.
packed up every single solitary Christmas ornament.
sent the tree to the recycle place
& caught up on laundry.
can you hear the hallelujah chorus?
so here's a few more
totally random

one more gift tag idea.
photocopied the girls silhouettes & resized into wallet size
perfect for gift tags
& glittered the edges.
the girls all waiting for the "ok" to come on down, Christmas morning.
little bit reading Luke 2 before opening gifts
the days of serving fudge pie for breakfast
must come to a screeching halt.
seriously.
received some of THE cutest cards
ever.
feel i sorta underachieved on this years card
the color & all
so i thought i'd share last years

how weird am i?
meant to share a close up of one of my fave pictures.ever.
my mom in santa's lap, 1953.
i printed it out on canvas
sprayed with adhesive spray
& then very gingerly sprinkled crystal glitter on top.

madison is baker extraordinaire
& after running out to lunch with my sweetie
( which by the way, if you're a local, Farm Burger has THE best burgers in atlanta.promise)

dozens of these cuties. from scratch.
she is such a good kid!!
looking forward to digging into this book

poor caroline has been a sicky for days.
this was taken pre-sickie status
but she's been a total trooper.
went to the doc, negative for strep
but she's had it all
cough, fever, congestion, pink eye, viral rash & never complains.
i would complain if i were her.
we had snow here in atlanta for the first time in over 100 years
on Christmas day.
it was absolutely magical.

I have loved reading your blog this past year and I am right there with ya on those darn cheese grits... had some for Christmas and they're calling me from the fridge!!! I have often wondered how you got so many followers. I finally have 20 after a year...
ReplyDeletePaige, You have such a beautiful writing style. Pictures are beautiful. My favorite is of your sweet Caroline reading the scripture from Luke before opening gifts. Precious! I'm thinking cheese grits and fudge pie sound really good right now.
ReplyDeletelove the boots.
ReplyDeletelove the books.
definitely gonna get the one on photography.
love the cookies that your girl made.
love the picture of your home in the snow....beyond beautiful.
That photography book looks super fun, do you have any others you can recommend as well? Santa brought me a new Rebel T1i! I hope Caroline is feeling better, poor little thing. Being sick at Christmas is no fun. Those snowmen cookies are adorable! What a fun surprise to come home to.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to have come across your blog. I look forward to your postings, the writing, the photos,
ReplyDeleteall of it. Thanks for sharing your life and thoughts and prayers with all of us.
Merry Christmas Paige, and Happy New Year.
Thanks! I needed a little Paige sunshine this evening. Love your post full of this and that. I'm debating on taking the tree down tomorrow because my Maddie is having her tonsils out on Wednesday and I think I will be awfully busy taking care of her and won't want to mess with it after that. I feel better knowing yours is gone too.
ReplyDeleteyou got mad photo skills paige!! beautiful! and YEA on the snow!!
ReplyDeleteSnow on Christmas? No way! We live in NE and didn't have snow on Christmas. We were so disappointed!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had loads of fun this Christmas! I, too, gained 38 pounds!
how wonderful snow on Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI've still got to put the decor away...sigh...
your pictures are always fantastic:)
I actually just found your blog at the start of this holiday season. What a fun blog. Seriously GORGEOUS girls and just a delight to read. I have put you on my home page, so know when you have written new stuff...thanx bunches..Susan
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one who takes the tree down right after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWe read out of Luke 2 as well. It was heart warming to see that big guy of mine get choked up and teary-eyed while reading.
I'd go with the brown boots. I'm partial to brown coyboy boots. It seems like you can pull off the brown ones with skirts and dresses more than black.
Oh for pete's sake...Miss C is sick? How come she always seems to get sick during big events? I'm feeling a little get well gift basket coming on for Lil' Bit.
I adore you. Your photos are gorgeous, and you got a Christmas card from the Brown Eyed Fox, which made me totally know you are as cool as I knew you were. Please tell me how you like that photography book, because it looks/sounds amazing! Have I mentioned that I love your photography mad skills yet? Because I want to go back and look at all of them again... Also, I have a photo of my cowgirl boots that I took a couple of weeks ago, that totally reminded me of a photo of your boots- But I swear I wasn't trying to be a copycat. LOL
ReplyDeleteI want some fudge pie. What in heaven's name is that?! (I can't have it though because I had way too many headaches this holiday season so I'm stripping sugar from my diet for six weeks... ugh... torture.)
Happy New Year!
Paige....
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfectly Merry Christmas.
Love it - enjoy your movie watching, grit eating, cookie decorating family. And as for the boots? I say keep both. ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I love that your dog is such a great model. Ours is always wild & I get pics of him w/ his tongue hanging out or his backside.
ReplyDeleteI think you should keep both pairs of boots. ;)
Ooh cheese grits. I saw PW's cookbook for the first time today and I am in love...LOVE! My Jamison has been sick like that too...with all of those things (and she passed along the pink eye to me). She as still been so sweet. Don't you just love them? I love the reading of Luke before opening gifts...priceless! Happy movie watching :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog. Your pictures are always so expressive and real. Poor Baby was really sick. I hope she feels better. Beautiful snow. I am so happy that you got to experience that.
ReplyDeleteNot so happy for those on the East Coast, what a mess they have had.
Wishing your lovely family peace and joy this
New Year.
Lovely photos. Looks like you are having the perfect week. If that is the front of your home it's just stunning and so perfectly fits the way I would picture someone living in Georgia. You are blessed with a wonderful family.

So excited that the peanuts made it in this post too:)
P.S. I hope Caroline feels better !!! Will is pukey too.
ReplyDeleteCan we talk about your gift wrapping skills? Seriously.
ReplyDeleteYou need to have your own little business wrapping for folks or maybe holding classes on how to wrap THE most beautiful gifts ever. :)
Love all of your Christmas posts. Every single one takes my breath away. All of your ornaments, your decorations, the beautiful packages......it's all so book worthy!
