we celebrated caroline's 5th grade graduation this week.
she finished strong & had fantastic year
making new friends, trying many new things
& having a great year academically.
she had a wonderful teacher ---really wonderful teacher
( two actually!)
who she fell in love with & was a little kindred spirit with too.
when we moved into this area years ago i knew we were blessed to live in
one of the best school clusters anywhere & my girls have each been given
an excellent education, preparing them well for the next step.
little bit was on student council,
junior beta club & national honors society.
she qualified for the presidential award too.
last night she found out she moved up to the elite company at dance.
it's been a great week for her.
i wanted to share a poem she wrote
inspired by her teacher & george ella lyon

ReplyDeletewhat a darling girl..congrats Caroline..the world awaits you!
ReplyDeleteThat poem was really sweet. And even better that you're surrounded by such great schools. I've been so worried because my JJ has one year left til Junior high (He's in 4th grade this year) and our Junior high is a really bad school. That's been part of our reason for trying to move these past couple years.. three years is a long time to be exposed to the things going on in such a bad school... though no school is perfect. Still, it's definitely been weighing on my heart a lot lately!
ReplyDeleteCaroline's poem is excellent! What a special piece that captures her and her family. Best wishes for a successful year in 6th grade! She is sure to do well. Enjoy your summer!
ReplyDeleteCaroline - I love where you're from! Hope you have a wonderful summer!
