my new studio

months ago dan encouraged me to create a studio
or a workplace if you will.
i was traveling around the house with my laptop
& felt sorta homeless.
we basically were only using our living room
as the room that holds the christmas tree
so it seemed the perfect space.

we found two perfect homes for the sofas
& began to make a plan.
during the interim caroline enjoyed having her own personal dance space!

basically i need a place to write, edit photos
& work on noonday.
we had our budget in mind & headed to world market to purchase
a table, chair and a couple other little pieces for the space.

i realize it's pretty sparse right now
but too much clutter actually makes me nervous.
i'm going to let the room evolve...
may or may not add storage for my noonday inventory
may or may not do something different with lighting
(i'd love a chandelier)
may or may not reupholster one of dan's moms chairs that she passed down to me
may or may not add some art
or make some big boards to showcase photography.

but for now i'm loving the space.
when the girls come home from school
someone usually camps out in here & works on homework.
i wanted a big comfy chair so that while i'm working on the computer
someone can snuggle up with a book.

i realize it's probably a designer's nightmare
or it looks completely uninspiring to you
but it's  perfect for me!
i usually have the window closest to my desk open
& listen to the birds right out side my window
that nest in the maple tree
while listening to fleetwood mac or needtobreathe on pandora.
i love it!

~~~
because i thought you might ask~~
table, stool, metal organizing shelf - world market
camera bag- jeanne oliver
business cards - minted
white chair- IKEA
big striped frame with beach photo - the handmade home
~~~

thank you to my dan for encouraging me to
begin this new adventure with my photography
& with noonday.
thank you for wanting to me have a space to be me.
thank you for believing in my dreams
especially the ones i didn't even know i had in my heart...
i'll love you forever with all of mine.

  18. Your new creative space is gorgeous. I like the idea of letting the room evolve as you begin using it. Each of the items you have already added are gorgeous. I love the metal organizing cart. The empty frames against the wall and the basket of starfish are great additions. A chandelier would seem perfect for the space.

  25. Paige it is just perfect. Your photography is so wonderful I envy your clients. When you decide to do a photo road trip to the west, count us in. Love Brinkley in your shots. When I am doing online work (aka shopping), you can always find a pup near my feet trying to talk me into visiting the Harry Barker site.

    im wondering about the white chair you have by your desk - where it's from and if it's comfy for working at the desk?? it's just beautiful and i'm looking for something that is not too office-y, but will be tall enough for a desk, etc.

    thanks for inspiring!

    Have you seen these jewelry trees on etsy? I got a really large one a few years ago now for Christmas, it is like a beautiful sculpture in its own right. Would look great in your LOVELY workroom to hang some noonday items.

  52. I saw on IG that you had posted something about this and I just had to come see and I just LOVE LOVE it! What I love about it is that it's completely YOU. Your taste. Your style. My living room is bare bare bare and I for the life of me can't figure out what to do in there. I can buy kitchen stuff any day of the week but living room?? Well this has inspired me to just be me and put out what I love and what is truly me. LOVE the framed card or print of the photographer lady. so cool! And I have that yellow journal from Anthro. I use it to write the things in it that God is speaking to my heart. Oh and I love your book collection as well. Everything just works together so well. Enjoy it in there. Oh and to picture you sitting there listening to the birdies and feeling the gentle breeze. PERFECTION! Well this comment is rather long isn't it??? Guess I'm making up for lost time. ;)
