sequins, glitter, purple polish. all in one post.

i didn't share this on the holiday walk
because, well, it's the bathroom
(& try not to covet our 80's hardware)
but the funny thing...it's emi's favorite room that i "decorated".
poor child, lives in a home where the bathroom is the fun room.
i love to photograph brink looking out the window.
it's so cute when i've been out running errands & as i pull in to the drive
i can see his handsome face looking out the window for us.
as soon as i get to a certain spot on the driveway, he runs away & heads
over to greet us at the door.
yes, we are such creatures of habit, he & i.

wanted to share my latest obsession
&current fave color.
it looks sorta like a crazy purple color
but it dries to a nice plumy grey color which actually sounds yuck
but it's pretty. really.
scoundrel if you wondered.

ran out and did some shopping the other day.
when i unpacked my goodies ( some of which i can't show yet)
i realized i had quite the color scheme going on.
sans the plummy grey polish of course.
the little nutrcracker ornaments are from crate & barrel
& i used them as gift toppers.

i had asked santa for some wild & crazy gold glittered TOMS
which i am probably technically "too old" to wear.
so in an effort to help santa, not sure if i'd need a different size, being glittered and all
i made a very helpful run to nordstroms
& low and behold
they had gunmetal sequined ones.
heaven help me.
i'm probably way too old to wear sequin kicks but i couldn't resist.
i wrapped them for him immediately because i really want to wear them now. right now.
just like the Butter polish, they look better in person.i promise.
just peeking out under long jeans....not with shorts or anything crazy like that. fear not.

& just in case you wondered,
here's proof that i do indeed wear shoes other than my cowboy boots.

& since we're talking shoes
& clearly i'll wear anything,
hence the sequined TOMS,
i would love your opinion.....

sequined or metallic
& haters of gold shoes, please don't respond!

( & dan, don't worry. i'm not shopping for tory's...just an innocent hypothetical survey! wink)

  18. Sequins for sure! When I hit my 50's, I thought it was time for the polyester pants with the seams down the front, WRONG!! My daughter had a fit so I am back to sequins and shiny and happy:)

  20. Ha! I just bought those gunmetal TOMS for my Emma to wear for her Christmas concert at school - thankfully she now wears the SAME size as her momma so I will be borrowing! And my sweet friend, we are most likely of the same age so YES we can still rock glittery shoes! As for the Tory's - well, my hubby would blow a gasket if I came home with another pair, but I saw those gold glittery lovelies at Nordie's and practically drooled all over them!

  21. Gah! This decision boggles my mind. Ummmm, metallic, since you already have some sequins coming to you! Also, I covet all the little decorated ballet flats out there! I need me a heel! I am 5-2 and simply can't do a ballet flat, unless I'm doing ballet that is! Ha!

  22. I love the gold sequined ones!! Also love those Toms and just might have to get a pair like them ;)

I also recently bought a lavender nail polish by Revlon called Lily. I had to have it because of our kitty named Lily Monet. I also wanted to tell you that you napkins of your holiday tablescape were the inspiration behind a new subway style art sign I did for a gift. You can see it on my studio blog. www.seawashedstudio.blogspot.com I gave you credit for the inspiration of course! ox

  36. I love the sequin toms...who says there is an age limit on them! :) My Beka came to me last night and said "momma...we need to get toms!". I love them and would love if Santa brought me and her a pair!:)

I love the purple nail polish; my fav color! I have not tried the Butter brand; my sis in law has says she likes it.
I say metallic on the gold flats; they are adorable!

I love the pics of Brinkley, he is such a "love"! He looks so festive in his red collar. We got Bailey a christmas green one to wear for the holidays! Oh, and I will love the day when I can leave her alone in the house and come home and everything is not torn apart; I am sure that will come with age!

    Take care Paige!

  39. You are NOT to old for sequin shoes! And as far as the Tory shoes I love both but I think you could get more wear out of the metallic. They look a little more casual.

  40. Sequined. For shore. But my sense of style is nonexistent so I will be interested in what your readers say :)

  41. the Toms are awesome and you are NOT too old to wear them...and neither am I for that matter...and lets keep saying it until we convince everyone around us.

  46. Love all of the shoes. Being a major Tory B. fan, I do adore both pairs that you showed. I am tempted to say go for the sequins. For me, the metallic would likely be the choice. Been considering the gold metallic ones myself.....my husband does NOT thank you for posting these pics, haha!
Love your home and all of your gorgeous pics lately!
