i ran over to athens earlier this week to take savannah a little
"congrats on your new sorority" gift, also know as red TOMS.
"congrats on your new sorority" gift, also know as red TOMS.
move in day was totally hectic & the girls hadn't finished decorating their dorm
so
i had reason #2 for a visit.
of course as soon as i got there i realized i had left my wide angle lens at home,
hence the choppy photos.
savannah & i have talked a few times
about how fortunate and blessed she is
to start off her college life on such a good foot.
she is seeking out others that love the Lord
& finding so many on the same page as she.
her roommate Mckinley is a major answer to prayer.
they have such a great connection already
& seem as if they've known each other for years.
she wasn't able to visit with us that day...
she had classes.
imagine that.
i also got to meet josh.
josh is trevor's roommate.
i've heard big things about josh~
"josh is so cute"
"josh is charming"
"josh is such a great guy"
(sources will go unnamed)
&
he was indeed!
these four are going to be life long friends.
they already seem like a hilarious sitcom.
to all the moms & dads out there
who've raised the Josh's and the Trevor's and the Mckinley's...
what an honor & blessing it is to see such great young adults
who i'm certain
bless those that they are around
encourage each other
&
will change their world.
i can't wait to watch it happen!
You know how I love a pair of red TOMS!! What a fun gift. I love reading about SMK's college experience, I am so excited for her. You have a raised a great girl so it is only fitting that she be surrounded by great friends!
ReplyDeleteBrings back such great memories! I am so glad she is starting off on such a great foot. It makes all the difference! Enjoy these years Miss Savannah! They are gonna be some of the best in your life!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are feeling better! Savannah's room looks like she has lived there for a least a year. They've done a great job. The right roommate is so important! When my daughter went to college her original roommate decided to go to a smaller private college at the last minute so she was left scrambling to find someone to whom she had a connection to avoid potluck. Turns out a friend of a friend was admitted off the wait list and needed a roommate. It was a match made in heaven. Really, it was a match made by the Lord. They spent four years together. They moved from the dorm to the sorority house to a real house and are best friends. I wish that same experience for your sweet girl. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet! Hmmm - red is our state color (not kidding) so I will definitely be checking out the red Toms!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to hear that all is going so well! Savannah's room is adorable -- as are those two cuties she is posing with in that pic.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Janet
What adorable young people! You are blessed. I know nothing about Toms but I will check 'em out. Who doesn't love red shoes?
ReplyDeleteI love her gift. So nice that you can just hop on over to see her. My daughter was just a couple hours away her first year of college. If one of us had a bad day, we could met and return home in just hours. I miss that now.
ReplyDeleteLove her room and her friends.
i just told josh about his shoutout, he is going to be beyond excited!
ReplyDeletethanks so much for my toms. i'm wearing them as we speak and missing you so much.
love you mom!
Okay, how adorable is that message that Savannah just left on this post. I had no idea that trevor and S were at the same school. Not sue why but I thought he went somewhere else. I am sure these 4 are going to have a BLAST! you will update us from time to time on all their adventures, won't you????
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky that S is close to home and also thats he welcomes you to come visit occasionally. I am sure that is not always the case:)
Hugs,
Kim

YAY!!! I love that she's making such great connections already. God is good...I'm excited for Trevor too...it's great for them to both have such good friends.
ReplyDeleteThat has to be the cutest dorm room I've EVER seen! Great job ladies :-) It looks like the room everyone will want to hang out it.
Blessings Savannah...I pray the Lord continues to bring a strong support system of other believers that you can grow & learn with. I pray you'll be a BRIGHT light on the campus and that God will use you in a mighty way to reach your peers.
They probably have the cutest dorm room I've ever seen!

Savannah's dorm room is just darling .. And love those Toms! Have you seen the b&w houndstooth??!
ReplyDeleteyay!!!! some of my dearest friends came out of my days spent at UGA....two of them are still living in Athens, so imagine how awesome it is to do life with them again 15 years later....with husbands and kids. :)
ReplyDeletelife is good...these will be some remarkable days for her in the next 4 years!
Love the Toms shoes. The founder is speaking at our church this weekend, so excited to be inspired by Blake. My 5 year old just purchased her first pair of Toms for her first day of kindergarten. Pink sparkly ones of course. She liked mine, and so I told her about the one for one campaign. It was one of my proudest moments as a mom when she said she wanted to use her own money to buy a pair so that another child could have a pair of shoes.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Savannah is having a great time! Her room looks so homey and cute; I love it! AND...I LOVE the red toms!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a GREAT Mom!!! :)
Take care!
Jodi
Love her Toms! Her room looks so great - but I expected as much. :) Finding the right roommate is such a blessing- they will probably be friends forever. Looks like she is having fun. I agree about Josh. :)
ReplyDeleteMy first year at UGA was one of the best years of my life! Savannah will have an awesome time!
