brunch & a ballgame

so,
we're moving into snowday #4

i can wear jammies all day with the best of 'em
however the charm is slowly wearing off.

yesterday was the first time i ventured out since sunday
& my kitchen goddess event
is long gone.

usps here in atlanta has been shut down.
all schools closed.
starbucks closed.
publix closed.
& brrr....wind chill in the teens is too much for this southern girl.
lord knows when we'll make up these days
because my guess is school will still be out tomorrow,
the roads are still full of ice.

thank goodness for a guest pass to my daughter's gym.
i'm in training for crying out loud!
no seriously, there is no where to run.
so yesterday i headed out with her & put some miles in on the treadmill.
which for my sanity & for the general well being
of my personality
was the highlight of january so far.

on to fun things~
last saturday we hosted brunch for savannah's cheer squad.

we served a grits martini bar

i now feel the need to whip up a grits martini bar on a weekly basis.

18 girls
2 gallons of grits
4 sticks of butter
120 nuggets from chickfila
2 gallons of fruit
2 pounds cajun shrimp
& 18 melt in your mouth, cream cheese gems

& not a single crumb left over=success in the kitchen!

1 8oz block cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 cup self rising flour
drop into mini muffin tin
& bake at 400 for 15min
& don't hate me if you have the impulse to eat every last one.

after brunch dan & i headed out to Big Peach running company
i went through their fit process
& got fitted with some serious running shoes.

my confirmation email came yesterday
it's official ...
7 weeks from sunday, i'll be here!!

then onto the game

how cute is smk's bestie?

during half time of the varsity game,
emi's middle school squad performed.

sweet em rocks her jumps!
they did great!

little bit should be heading down any moment
for our movie date....
nanny mcphee returns
snowed in jammies day #4 , here we go

  7. Cabin fever confirmed in our home! We are going to hit the town today come h#ll or high water :) I LOVE the grit martini bar!!! You seriously are the most creative lady. Your daughters are so blessed by you. I love the action shots of your girls cheering. I have a question, did your girls become such great jumpers through gymnastics training? Paige needs to work on her toe touch for her dance team and she is still struggling. Any tips? Love ya!

16-20inches of snow. One snow day, (just enough.)
We did have an ice storm a few years ago and had 5 snow day with no power. UGH!! It did get old real fast. You have my sympathy.
Not really sure what a grits martini bar is but it looks like fun. Hope you can be out and about by the weekend.

  27. What a fun brunch ~ never heard of those little gems but will have to give them a try!

Ouch, 4 days is not going to be fun to make up. We've added one day and sneaked by with a delay. I really don't want to be in my classroom come July! :)
