~temps dropped to 53 in Atlanta
~ i filled my gas tank after only having to wait 30 minutes in line
~its candy corn season
~the mailman comes to my door .....its always a good thing when the mailman comes to my door.
& he hands me my autographed collectors edition of Matthew's new Halloween book
(thank you Matthew & thank you Linda!)

~ the meany boy didn't bother Caroline on the bus
~ordered this precious dress from one of my new favorite blog friends ~found this yummy velvet pumpkin & should be arriving any day now from them
~my 15 year old daughter tells me that one of her bff's asked if she & I wore the same size jeans. we don't ....but if we did, she would "need to borrow your moms jeans that she wore to the football game last week...they were so cool"
only the mom of a teenager can truly appreciate this historical day in my life.
~the biggest thrill of all..... today I go to Gap to buy jeans ( different pair than the said cool teen worthypair) . I never buy jeans. I seldom wore jeans over the last few years because I didn't like the way they fit me ....& my friends, I left there with these
in a size 6---6 my friends!! Same time last year I was in a 14!
Now please don't tell me Gap jeans run generous, or that because they are stretch jeans that I really am a size larger.....I want to live in the thrill of a size 6! For some of you , that size is ginormous but for this mom who has struggled with the ole '3 babies in 3 years' ( yes that was quite a while ago) and then just life and the lure of french fries, buying in the single digits is one glorious event!
So , with all this good news, surely a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks is the best form of celebration!
Well, that & sporting my new cool jeans at the ballgame tonight--wink :)
(ps--i know pride comes before the fall and all the other cliches but so does enjoying the moment & todays moment was a good one--enjoy your moments today too)

Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteI am a friend of Jody Ferlaaks, and have popped in from time to time.
Congrats on the jeans! I can relate, last year at this time I was in a size 12, after 7 months of WW I am in a size 4! My husband went jean shopping with me on Wed. night and I kept coming out of the dressing room holding up 4 fingers and grinning! I don't view it as pride :) Just hard work and satisfaction at a job well done.
Enjoy the jeans a stop at the Gap may be in order!
Becky
Piage,
ReplyDeleteYou just rock that size 6...and enjoy the moment! You certainly earned it!
That comment from your daughter's friend will no doubt ring a smile to your face for awhile to come...I'm smiling for you...because that is surely the highest praise a mom can earn!!!

ReplyDeleteI am so impressed by you (always!) Currently being pregnant with #3 in 4 years has really got me motivated to get this weight off as soon as this baby comes! I'll be looking to you for motivation! I was in a size 6 when I got married...those were good times!
Paige- Congrats to you. That is an amazing accomplishment. As someone is trying hard to find willpower and inspiration right now, I'd love to hear more about how you've accomplished this. Can you share here or email me at jenjen1220atyahoodotcom? Good for you! Jen
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got your book, and congratulations on your new jeans!! I cannot imagine ever being a size six again...sigh.

ReplyDeleteHey, I found you from your NieNiedialogues Favorite Blog request... that was a sweet love letter.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. You are real but positive and it shows. Your girls are sweet.
I'm proud to hear you're in a size 6. I've got my size 6 jeans in a box in the garage. I love those jeans and I want to believe I'll get there again but I'm in the throes of little girls and it's chocolate(not french fries) that beckons me. Although, this size 12 doesn't fit well on me and quiet frankly, I don't like it. so, I did think about getting on an exercise program yesterday. And now to read your uplifting message... hmmmm, any tips? I'm new to the blogging world but I know what you mean about good people out there. We certainly see that through the Nielson's, huh?
Paige....way to go on the size 6!!! You be proud...you worked HARD! You are such a cool teenage Mom. I aspire to be the same way...loving and balanced.
ReplyDeleteKim
A size 6 is certainly something to celebrate! Any size 6 is something to celebrate. I know I'd be jumping up and down happy. :)

ReplyDeleteLove those pumpkins bunches and bunches and then some!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new size 6! This is the first time I have read your blog and I was so impressed to hear of your accomplishment! I am also a mother to three kiddos in three years! They are 3, 2, and 1. I have been struggling with the "baby" weight too and am inspired by your success! Thanks so much! I'm gonna go eat an apple now!
